As a bus commuter I frequently sit in the front seats of the bus since I kind of enjoy seeing what the driver see's and lets just say can get a first glance of all the idiot drivers around us. In the event of an accident I'd like to think I can see it before it occurs and so therefore can hopefully avoid being truly hurt if we so happen to get caught up in one.

The other evening on our way home I noticed a motorcyclist a few feet in front of us. The drive was going smoothly and the cyclist ahead of us was a good distance away, but then of course traffic slowed down a bit ahead and the cyclist became inpatient. A few minutes later I see him zigzagging across and around the SUV in front of him, cutting the guy off and of course aggravating the situation as the guy in the SUV didn't take it lightly.

Seconds later the guy in the SUV swerved around cycle guy and gave him a taste of his own medicine. What ensued thereafter was not only funny, but left me shaking my head in disbelief as the cyclist once again tried to maneuver his way around the SUV yet SUV guy wasn't having it. Cyclist went left, as did SUV, cyclist went right and so did SUV, and so on and so on. Eventually cyclist managed to get alongside the SUV drivers side and the yelling ensued. Mind you this was all witnessed from the front seat of a bus now going as slow as possible as the bus driver kept a safe distance.

Seconds after the cyclist got a bit closer to the drivers side as I believe at this point obscenities were tossed, the cyclist reacted by attempting to punch the guy in the SUV. So now picture cyclist trying to steer with left hand as he swings his fist at the SUV driver, driver swerves to the right, now causing idiot on cycle to topple over in shame screaming F--- as the bus driver stops completely and stalls traffic behind him so no one can cut him off and hit cyclist in the interim.

The cyclist is now trying to rev up the motorcycle, first attempt, not successful. Second attempt wasn't either and he now realizes the big bus behind him, full of passengers and everyone who can see what was actually happening shaking their heads. Pretty sure if he could get his cycle running again he would've chased the SUV driver down and continued the spectacle, but divine intervention foiled those plans altogether. Whether he was pissed, embarrassed or felt defeated I have no clue, but the look on his face portrayed all three as he walked the motorcycle to the side of the road and allowed traffic to continue.

Road rage is one of the major causes of accidents everywhere. It doesn't matter where you live, there is always someone on the road who seems to be in a hurry to get somewhere and basically feel like they have a right to the road and no ones safety is taken into consideration, not even their own. Sad but something every commuter has to be aware and focused on while driving to and from from work each day. If you need to be some place and time is of the essence don't try doing it during rush hour, give yourself ample time to make your appointment and most importantly remember there are others on the road who are just as anxious as you to make it where their going.

Accidents can be at a minimum if everyone focused on the lives that are destroyed needlessly because of ones lack of consideration for others. Everyone has someone who expects them to make it home safely so please drive safely and with cautious.
